Juicy Words

We are trying really hard to add juicy words to our writing.  An important part of grade two writing is using descriptive vocabulary.  First, I did some of my own writing.  Then we read many of the Fancy Nancy books.  We came up with our own list of fancy words to add to as we encounter them.  We are all going to try to use them in our writing.

A nice spring walk!

We were starting to get a little restless so a good brisk walk was needed!

Our New Class Pet!

We now have a beta fish in our class thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Hawkins (otherwise known as Emma's parents).  All of the students submitted their idea for names and Emma chose Angel.  Emma did an excellent job explaining how to take care of her.  We hope Angel has a good time in our classroom!

We are learning about life cycles.  We began with human life cycles.  These observations and comments came from the students.

For yet another "how to" writing, we learned how to make dirt pudding.  It was quite interesting!

Our second piece of how to writing was how to use a piece of playground equipment.  Of course, first we had to go out and use the equipment!  Then we had to write about it.
