After learning A LOT about bats (I have to say that I learned things I didn't know before!), we worked on our final project. The students painted a watercolour sky in the background, drew and cut out a bat from black construction paper, used black paint and straws to blow the paint around for the field below, and wrote their report. I am amazed at the abilities of these children, especially when it's about something they are really interested in.

Learning about Hot Air Balloons with Mr. Shippee
We were lucky to have Doug Shippee, a hot air balloon pilot for more than 30 years, visit our class this week. It was so interesting and I know we learned lots of new things. Our class and Ms. Vey's class had many questions for both Mr. and Mrs. Shippee. We are so thankful that he was able to give up his time to come and share his knowledge!
