We Saw Space!!!

We were so lucky to have Mr. Nason come and meet us at school on Thursday evening so we could look at the sky!  It was clear but very cold.  Thanks to all of the students and parents who stuck it out long enough to see everything.  Personally, I was amazed to see the surface of the moon.  It seemed surreal.  We also saw Jupiter and it's moons, as well as a nebula which is a new star being born.  Mr. Nason also took the time to name some of the constellations we were looking at.

The Sun Gives Us Light!

With Michael as the earth and Gabriel as the sun, we were able to demonstrate how when the earth rotates we receive light at different times of the day. Also when it was light on our side of the world, it was dark on the other side.

Problem of the Week

We are learning how to read through math problems to find the information we need to solve the problem. Not an easy skill!

Working With the Hundreds Chart

Students worked together in partners to figure out how to place all of the mixed up numbers on a hundreds chart. This helps to develop an awareness of how to use the chart for addition and subtraction.
