My Family

We talked about how all families may look different.  Some children may live in a house with their mom & dad, some may live in two different houses taking turns with their mom & dad, some may have grandparents or other relatives living with them, etc.

Read the Room (or school!)

For this literacy activity, the students (working in pairs) had to look for words beginning with certain letters.  This helps them to pay attention to the beginning sound in words, which is a very important skill in reading.
