Using the leaves we found on our nature walk, we made leaf people. First, we painted a background. Then we turned our leaves into people, dogs, mice, kites, and birds!

Terry Fox Walk
For our annual Terry Fox Walk, we walked down around both of the Arthur Miller Fields. It was also Pink Day in support of Anti-Bullying week!
Terry Fox
We spent a lot of time today learning about Terry Fox. I was impressed by the attention the children paid to this story.
We brainstormed before reading the book what we thought we knew about Terry Fox. Then we read the book and added to our chart. We made a list of questions we still had. Then we watched the video.

Representing numbers in different ways
As part of our math curriculum, students need to demonstrate a knowledge of how to show numbers in different ways. For example, 10 can be 8 + 2 or 6 + 4, etc. To practice this, students had a cup with two-sided bean counters in it. They had to "Spill The Beans" and record all of the different combinations they found.

School wide Zumba
Our school had a Zumba class down on the field! It was a lot of fun. Everyone enjoyed themselves and got some exercise at the same time.
