Kindergarten writers are adding labels and words!

As the writing progresses in kindergarten, they begin to label their pictures with any beginning sounds they hear (ex:  they may put an h beside their house).  They also begin to write any words that they know, usually words that are the names of members of their family.  I then will ask them to tell me a story about what is going on in their picture and write it below.  Students should be able to tell a story based on their picture.  We are also working on printing the word "me" by themselves as it is our word of the week!
PS.  Kids tell us everything!  So never be surprised by what they write ;)
