Math- Spill the beans!

We are working on different combinations of numbers.  The students had to spill out their cup of "beans" (two-sided counters) and count how many red sides and how many white sides there were.  They then had to write it as an adding sentence.  Ex:  2 red + 6 white= 8.  This is really a grade one outcome but my kindergarten students were great at it!
